Samuel Stirpe

Samuel Michael Stirpe was born November 9, 1989, in Scarborough,

Ontario. He began writing at a very young age, finishing his first novella, The Path to Z, when he was only twelve years

old. 

He finished his first novel in 2012, a dystopian epic titled The Hallowed Mountains, which he turned into a book series and movie script. He has now written ten novels, including his first Western, Hangman’s Burden Undertaker’s Glory, in 2026. He also

wrote two short-story collections. Sam has recorded two solo albums in the metal genre, under the name A Baptism by Fire, where he wrote all the music

and lyrics, in addition to playing the drums, guitars, bass, and keyboards. 

He has lived all around Ontario, but currently resides in Kitchener, attending Conestoga College. Samuel is a fan of science fiction, historical fiction, mafia drama, fantasy, legal thrillers, and horror, and his favorite authors include Stephen King, J. R. R. Tolkien, Phillip K. Dick, K. W. Jeter, R. A. Salvatore, Mario Puzo,

Aldous Huxley, John Grisham, Bram Stoker, Margaret Atwood, William Gibson, and Sherry Thomas. 

He has also been a big fan of

hockey (Pittsburgh Penguins) ever since he saw Super Mario play in the mid-nineties. Sam enjoys video games and is a fan of Zelda, Red Dead Redemption, and most of all, the Resident Evil franchise.

A lifelong addict of heavy metal and progressive rock, his favorite bands include Black Sabbath, Genesis, and Iron Maiden. He also loves a lot of European bands, such as Amaranthe, Blind

Guardian, Stratovarius, and Helloween. 

Sam’s all-time favorite

movie is Blade Runner, and if he’s watching TV, chances are he’s

watching The Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, or Star Trek: Deep

Space Nine. 

His five favorite novels are Brave New World, Dracula, Dr. Adder, The Shining, and The Lord of the Rings.
